Shedeur Sanders was known for his college number, the 2 he wore on his jersey at Colorado.
But he's not No. 2 in the NFL.
Instead, Sanders is rocking 12 as a rookie for the Cleveland Browns, now debuting in those digits on Sunday in Week 11.
There's a good reason for it, too.

Why does Shedeur Sanders wear jersey number 12?
When Sanders showed up in Browns camp, veteran DeAndre Carter had the number 2.
“I’m not trying to buy anything,” Sanders told reporters in the offeseason. “My signing bonus ain’t that high right now.”
The reporters then asked Sanders why he chose 12.
“It was the best available number for me. That’s it," Sanders said.

The number 12 does match what Travis Hunter wore in college as Sanders' teammate and now in the NFL with the Jacksonville Jaguars, so that helps, too.
