The Cleveland Browns played host to the Green Bay Packers on Sunday afternoon.

Unless you're a fan of one these teams, this game likely wasn't high on your interest list. Entering the contest, the Packers were 2-0 and looked like one of the best teams in the league. The Browns, meanwhile, were 0-2 and had looked like, well, the Browns.

For much of the afternoon, it looked like the Packers were in control and would easily escape a with in. The Packers had a 10-0 lead heading into the 4th quarter, and that's where everything changed.

Andre Szmyt kicked 35-yard field goal to put the Browns on the board in the fourth. Then, the Browns intercepted Jordan Love and quickly added their first touchdown of the game on a Quinshon Judkins rush.

The Packers went down and attempted a field goal to win the game, but the Browns blocked the kick. After the block, the Browns were able to get in position for a long field goal from Szmyt.

From 55-yards out, Szmyt nailed the kick, giving the Browns a walk-off, exciting win.

After the game, NFL insider Andrew Siciliano pointed out that Szmyt's kick was the longest game-winning field goal in Browns' history.

On the day, Szmyt made both of his field goal attempts and his lone extra point. Now, the unheralded kickers will forever be remembered by Browns' fans after his Sunday heroics.

Szmyt was a great story even before this kick. The Syracuse product began his career with the Chicago Bears in 2023. The kicker didn't make the team, and tried his luck in the UFL with the St. Louis Battlehawks.

This offseason, Szmyt was added by the Browns to compete with veteran Dustin Hopkins for the team's kicking job. Szmyt won the job, which was considered an upset since Hopkins has long been a reliable kicker in the NFL.

Now, you can guarantee Szmyt will be kicking field goals for the Browns for a while. The team improved to 1-2 on the season and picked up a much-needed win with games against the Detroit Lions and Minnesota Vikings next on the schedule.

The Packers, meanwhile, were hoping to be 3-0, but now have to be a footnote in the Browns' record books.
