The Cincinnati Bengals lost 34-12 to the Pittsburgh Steelers, putting their playoff potential in jeopardy. At 3-7, the Bengals are behind in the AFC North, and their Week 11 loss might be worse than it initially seemed.
Near the end of the game, Jalen Rams ey and Ja'Marr Chase got into it, with Ramsey hitting Chase in the helmet before getting ejected. However, Ramsey accused Chase of spitting on him, which led to the punch and ejection.
After the game, @Austin_Briski of Fox19 on Twitter/X shared a damning video, which depicts Chase spitting on Ramsey before the punch was thrown. If that video holds up, and the NFL's review finds Chase did spit on Ramsey, then the star Bengals receiver could be suspended for one week.
Damning video means Ja'Marr Chase could be suspended for Week 12
Mike Garafolo of NFL Network highlighted why Chase could wind up being suspended for the Bengals' Week 12 matchup against the New England Patriots.

"So, going back to the Jalen Carter situation," Garafolo notes, "the NFL has made it clear spitting on an opponent is now on the level of a suspension. Carter served his Week 1 because he was ejected before the first snap. Today's was deep into the fourth quarter."
The Jalen Carter situation provides some potential clarity for how the NFL could view this Chase spitting incident. Carter, on NFL opening night for the Philadelphia Eagles, spat on Dallas Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott.
While Carter was ejected in Week 1, the NFL deemed him to have served his suspension since he didn't play a single snap. As Garafolo points out, that isn't the case with Chase.

The Ramsey spitting incident happened late in the fourth quarter, which means that Chase, even if he were caught in the moment and ejected, could be suspended since the NFL might deem that he didn't serve his suspension.
But, since Chase wasn't punished for his involvement in this incident during the game, the NFL could justify suspending Chase for one week due to the video from Briski showing Chase spitting on Ramsey.
Chase denies spitting on Ramsey, saying, according to Paul Dehner Jr. Of The Athletic, "I never opened my mouth to that guy. I didn't spit on nobody." But Briski's video of the Chase and Ramsey incident says to the contrary.
The NFL will review the video and reevaluate its ruling on Carter from back in Week 1. But, as Garafolo mentions, a one-game suspension for Chase could be incoming in Week 12.
