Rich Eisen makes declarative statement on Bears following epic win over Eagles image

The Chicago Bears handed the Eagles a black eye on Black Friday, slugging it out for a 24-15 win in Week 13 over Philadelphia (8-4). With the victory, the Bears are sitting atop the NFC North and eyeing their first postseason berth since 2020.

Following the team's play against the defending Super Bowl Champions, broadcaster Rich Eisen is convinced that the up-and-coming Bears are contenders right now.

"Talk about a difference a year makes," the former ESPN SportsCenter anchor said in a monologue posted on his YouTube page. "It was one year ago - the day after Thanksgiving - the Chicago Bears told Matt Eberflus that things were done now... The Bears' management decided to make a change at the coaching position, and we all know what happened after that."

"They have won nine of ten now (since Week 2), to completely remake themselves and to remake the NFC North, and perhaps the NFC, as a whole. I said a couple of weeks ago that I needed to see a 'full game' out of Chicago. Start to finish, where they look like the better team... And for two straight weeks, home against the Pittsburgh Steelers and now, in Philadelphia, punking the defending NFC champs and defending Super Bowl champs."

"The Bears, 100 %, were the dominant team in Philadelphia on Friday."

Eisen believes Bears could win the NFC

Eisen stated further that he's convinced that the Bears are ready for prime time and could make a big playoff push.

"Give it up, man. Because Chicago now, after winning nine of their last ten.. Ladies and gentlemen, they are for real."

Emerging Bears quarterback Caleb Williams was largely ineffective in the victory over Philly, completing just 17-of-36 passes for 154 yards, one touchdown, and one interception. However, he got help from the ground game from a tandem of running backs, DeAndre Swift and Kyle Monangai, who both rushed for over 100 yards apiece. It was the first time two Bears teammates accomplished that feat since Walter Payton and Matt Suhey in 1985.

The Bears will next play on Dec 7, when they travel to Green Bay to face the second-place Packers in a key divisional match-up.
