There was a conflicting play during the Pittsburgh Steelers and Chicago Bears game in Week 12, as Jalen Rams ey pushed Caleb Williams down when he was running out of bounds.
Many didn't believe that Ramsey should have done that, but at the end of the day, even players on the Bears view it as a football play.
Some of the players on the Bears' offense went out and started shoving around to ensure the Steelers and Ramsey don't think it's fine to do that to their quarterback, but Williams spoke about it earlier in the week and didn't sound too upset about what happened. He also added that it meant a lot to him to have teammates who had his back.
“I actually didn’t notice that until I went back and watched, but, yeah, it’s what we are for each other,” Williams said, per Marquee Network.
“If somebody did something wrong, I wouldn’t expect anybody else. If C.J. Was out there and somebody on their offense did something wrong on the sideline, I would expect all of us to be right there on the white (paint) and protect each other, because that’s who we are. We fight for each other, we protect each other. Appreciate those boys for standing up for me.”
This just goes to show the type of team that Ben Johnson is building. Not only are the Bears one of the better teams in the NFL record-wise, but they seem to truly be figuring things out as an entire unit, forming a brotherhood.
That goes a long way in the NFL, so this was truly a positive sign, even if it might seem like something small.
“At the same time, just to see the whole sideline come to life, I think it adds another spark there to your offense and really your whole team,” Johnson said.
