Over the course of his young career, Caleb Williams has been in the spotlight from day one. After a fantastic college run between Oklahoma and USC, Caleb being drafted number one overall by Chicago certainly added even more attention.
After all, for what has seemed like an eternity, Soldier Field was the proverbial burial ground for any quarterback’s career. Williams came in and instantly proved why he was different.
Caleb Williams broke the Bears' rookie records for completions, passing yards, and touchdowns. That’s not all. He also became one of four rookies in NFL history to account for 4000+ yards of offense and throw fewer than 10 interceptions.
While it was an unproductive season in totality, finishing 5-12, Williams individually played well and ended the season on a high note by beating the Green Bay Packers with a game-clinching drive.
This season, after adding head coach Ben Johnson, there were higher expectations, and Caleb Williams is more than living up to those expectations as of late.

Caleb Williams leads all QBs over last two weeks
After losing an embarrassing one against the Baltimore Ravens in week 8, Caleb Williams and the Bears have gotten right back on track.
Over the last two weeks, they’ve picked up some gutty victories in come-from-behind fashion. While this could be a sign of the Ben Johnson toughness effect seeping through, it’s also been Caleb Williams looking great.
When trailing this season, Caleb Williams has put up:
- A 72.3 adjusted completion rate
- 1,306 total yards of offense
- 11 total TDs
- Only two interceptions
This play over the season, but specifically over the last two weeks, has been enough to earn him PFF’s highest grade of any quarterback in the league (91.1).

Over the last two weeks, Williams has thrown for 500 yards, four touchdowns, and no interceptions on 57.1% accuracy. All while being sacked only twice despite constant pressure.
Caleb will certainly need to continue his impressive streak of play if Chicago wants to get through a brutal second half of the season and clinch a playoff spot. From the looks of things now, though, Caleb Williams is more than living up to his hype.
