The Chicago Bears seemed like they were all in on drafting a running back high during the 2025 NFL Draft, but they didn't take one until the seventh round.

Chicago needs to ensure that the running game can take control of the offesive at times when quarterback Caleb Williams needs help, and adding another veteran running back to the room could help.

According to Gene Chamberlain from the Chicago Bears On SI, the Bears should try to trade for New York Jets running back Breece Hall.

"This is a total pipe dream. Hall is in his final year but the Jets haven't brought aboard a potential replacement," Chamberlain wrote. "The Bears would need to probably trade them a back in return if they acquired Hall. There has been a constant flow of rumors since free agency about Hall's departure but that could all be the result of a big media throng in New York with nothing else to write about now that their flaky quarterback era has ended."

Hall has spent three seasons with the Jets, rushing for 2,333 yards and 14 scores in 40 games.

During Hall's rookie season in 2022, he only appeared in seven games due to a knee injury, but he has missed only one game since then.

Hall is entering the final years of his four-year, nine-million-dollar deal, so the Jets may move on from him if they don't plan to resign him.
