Bills urged to let Josh Allen 'loose' as latest power rankings reveal true path to playoffs image

Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen showcased everything that makes him special in the 39-34 win over the Cincinnati Bengals.

The Superman cape was on, Allen made ridiculous throws, picked up big yards with his legs, and simply put the team on his back (along with the defense helping late), and willed them to a superb win in the snow.

But we have seen Allen reel in the Superman acts over the past 18 months, but Sunday showed how devastating he can be when he isn't the mild-mannered Clark Kent.

And for CBS Sports' Pete Prisco, in his latest power rankings, the Bills land at No. 10, but Prisco has also urged the Bills to do one thing down the stretch.

"Josh Allen carried them past the Bengals in the snow, showing exactly how this team needs to play to win," Prisco wrote. "It's his time. Let him loose."

Is playing Superman the way forward for Buffalo?

We have seen when Allen does morph into an unstoppable quarterback, that it does give the Bills a scary alter ego, but also, that is when turnovers happen.

Last year, Allen reeled them in, and the Bills went on a deep playoff run and were a balanced team.

Is that what is needed now? Or is what we saw on Sunday the recipe for Buffalo to reach its first Super Bowl in the Allen era? That will be for the coaches to decide, but Allen, in the form he was in Sunday, gives the Bills a legitimate shot at Super Bowl glory.

But I'll leave you with this question, folks.

Can Allen do it for two months?

That is a herculean task, but Allen has shown he is more than capable of doing herculean things on a football field.
