The Buffalo Bills have a massive wide receiver problem.
Over six games, Keon Coleman and Joshua Palmer have been disappointments and Khalil Shakir and Dalton Kincaid have way too much on their respective plates in terms of having to carry the passing attack.
It's time for general manager Brandon Beane to do something in order to help Josh Allen, who just doesn't have a sufficient amount of weapons in the passing game.
One analyst, FanSided's Christopher Kline, predicts the Bills will pull off a trade deadline deal with the Baltimore Ravens that lands five-time Pro Bowl wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins.
Here's Kline's thoughts on the prediction:
DeAndre Hopkins popped early in the campaign when Jackson was still healthy. He looked well on his way to a vintage season. Unfortunately, his production (and his usage) has stalled. Hopkins only has nine catches through six weeks, averaging a whopping 19.8 yards per reception. He can still make dazzling catches over the top, he can still beat receivers one-on-one on the outside, but Hopkins' days as a WR1 are over, Still, the Buffalo Bills can always use more experienced weapons at wide receiver. If you can't stay afloat with Jackson in Baltimore, following the chain of opportunity to Buffalo is an ideal outcome.
While we would love to see the Bills acquire a true No. 1 wide receiver, going so will be extremely difficult, especially with the limited cap space Buffalo has.
Hopkins would certainly be better than nothing, though.
The 33-year-old's best days are behind him, but Hopkins still has some gas left in the tank and we would consider him an upgrade over Coleman and Palmer until they prove otherwise.
Hopkins has tallied 178 receiving yards through six contests, and that's with Lamar Jackson missing two of those games. Hopkins' small, one-year, $5 million contract is the kind of deal the Bills can fit in, too.
Would the Ravens trade Hopkins, though?
It stands to reason they would. After all, the Ravens are now 1-5 and look certain to miss the playoffs and Hopkins could leave in free agency in 2026, or even retire.
Snagging a Day 3 pick for Hopkins before he leaves for nothing in 2026 would be a logical move and a win amid a lost season for Baltimore.
