Last season, Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen was named the MVP after a stellar year, and after one week of the 2025 season, for most, he's on track to win it again.
After a superb come-from-behind win over Lamar Jackson and the Baltimore Ravens, which saw Allen throw for over 250 yards in the fourth quarter alone, No. 17 put on the Superman cape and produced what many thought was impossible.
But after his heroics on Sunday night, when looking at the quarterback landscape and Allen's peers, is he the best quarterback in the game right now?
That is quite the conversation starter, and for CBS Sports' Cody Benjamin, in his quarterback power rankings, it is Allen who sits comfortably at the top of the pile at No. 1.
"Pitted against Lamar Jackson and the Ravens in Week 1, Allen finished stronger than anyone, showing no fear and all the right touch to outlast a fellow AFC power," Benjamin writes. "He's a one-man wrecking crew in the clutch."

Allen the straw that stirs Buffalo's drink
Let's make one thing clear - if the Bills are to make a Super Bowl run, it will be because of No. 17.
The franchise will go as Allen goes, and while yes, it wasn't ideal for the Bills to be down 40-25 with under five minutes left, and in truth, out of 100 times, maybe a handful would end with Buffalo winning.
So, there is still a lot to clean up for Buffalo, but when you have a unicorn at quarterback and a player who does things not many others can, you are always in with a shot.
Is Allen the best quarterback in football right now? If you want to say Lamar Jackson, Joe Burrow, Jalen Hurts, or Patrick Mahomes? Yeah, let's have a discussion.
But Allen right now is the best quarterback in football until proven otherwise.
