The Buffalo Bills saw all their good work against the Kansas City Chiefs go down the drain in the 30-13 loss to the Miami Dolphins, as many now doubt the AFC East champs as a genuine Super Bowl contender.

Granted, at 6-3, the Bills are still in the hunt, but the manner in which the team succumbed to the Dolphins was eye-opening.

The passing game was horrible, the offensive line struggled to protect Allen, and the defense, which had shown improvement, was blown off the field.

As such, CBS Sports' John Breech has given Buffalo an "F" grade for the loss while giving the team both barrels in his assessment.

"After beating the Chiefs in an AFC showdown last week, the Bills got caught sleeping at the wheel in this game," Breech writes. "Buffalo looked overmatched, unprepared and completely out of sync. The Bills (6-3) are still a Super Bowl contender, but they have a lot of flaws this year and those flaws were on display in this game."

Bills dealt harsh reality check vs. Miami

Division games are always tough to predict, and while Allen hadn't lost to the Dolphins since 2022, there is always an element of the unknown, and that came home to roost for Buffalo.

The Dolphins laid a good, old-fashioned beat-down on Buffalo, something that would have caught everyone by surprise, and now, the pitchforks are being sharpened with the Bills far behind in the AFC East race, with the passing game struggling; many are doubting Buffalo's ability to go on a run to consolidate its playoff spot.

The NFL is a week-to-week league, and the Bills' loss to Miami is evidence that no team can be taken lightly.

Perhaps the Bills did that, perhaps they didn't, but either way, this loss was as bad as it gets.
