The Baltimore Ravens bounced back in a devastating manner from their Week 1 loss to the Buffalo Bills as they lit up the Cleveland Browns, dropping 41 points on their division rivals.
And no, it wasn't Derrick Henry being the chief destroyer - it was Lamar Jackson.
With Henry a non-factor to the tune of just 23 rushing yards, Lamar let it rip through the air, throwing for 225 yards and four touchdowns, and having a passer rating of 144.4, as Jackson showcased that he is more than just a running quarterback.
But was that performance enough for him to land at No. 1 in Cody Benjamin's quarterback rankings for CBS Sports? You better believe it was.
"In truth, he and Josh Allen probably deserve to share top billing," Benjamin writes. "After cruising all over the field with his legs in Week 1, Jackson was back to launching perfect deep strikes to rout the Browns. This man is a walking highlight reel."
Ravens face defining early-season stretch
The win over the Browns was one Baltimore simply had to get. Why? Their upcoming schedule is brutal.
After the Browns, the Ravens face the Detroit Lions, the Kansas City Chiefs, the Houston Texans, and then the Los Angeles Rams before their bye week. That is tough sledding right there. But at least three of those four are at home.
Still, Jackson's ability to bounce back from the Week 1 debacle was superb, and now he will have to lead his team like the true MVP he is during a brutal stretch.
Emerge from that group of games above .500, and the Ravens are in business.
And Lamar might be on his way to a third MVP win as a result.
