The Baltimore Ravens' season has gone from bad to worse with a 44-10 blowout loss at home to the Houston Texans with Cooper Rush under center.

The Ravens now drop to 1-4 behind three Rush interceptions, and the Texans playing a near flawless offensive game with C.J. Stroud only having four incompletions on the day (23 of 27 for 244 yards, four touchdowns).

It was yet another game the Ravens' defense gave up 30+ points and allowed 6.3 yards per play for a Houston offense that, in the opening month, had been so-so at best.

And to say the performance took Ravens head coach John Harbaugh by surprise would be an understatement.

“Obviously, got beat in every way you get beat, very disappointed with that,” Harbaugh said. “Did not expect to see that. Thought we'd play a lot better than that based on the way we practiced, and hats off to them. Just a complete disappointment, and we're going to have to find a way to turn it around, figure out who we are this next week, and then into the bye.”

Ravens season on life support after Texans loss

The loss to the Texans drops Baltimore to 1-4, and if the team puts that out against the Los Angeles Rams next week, the Ravens will be 1-5, and one could make a case that playoff football could just about be unreachable.

Derrick Henry only had 15 carries for 33 yards and a touchdown, with the Ravens oddly having Rush throw it more (20 attempts), with many of the thought that this would be a game to lean on Henry to protect Rush.

But Baltimore thought otherwise and got curb-stomped.

It is a tough spot to be right now and one that the Ravens under Harbaugh have hardly found themselves in, but things have never looked worse for the AFC North franchise.
