The Buffalo Bills announced Monday that the fan who pushed Baltimore Ravens wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins was punished by the team.

According to Adam Schefter, the Bills have banned the fan for life.

“The fan who shoved Ravens WR DeAndre Hopkins, and then got shoved by QB Lamar Jackson, has been “indefinitely banned from Bills and NFL stadiums”, per a team official. The fan had been ejected after the shove Sunday night.”

Jackson explained why he shoved the fan.

"He slapped me, and he was talking -- so, I just forgot where I was for a little bit," Jackson said via Ravens Wire. "You have to think in those situations. You have security out there; let security handle it. But I just let my emotions get the best of me.

There has been an uptick of fan incidents across this sports world, and this was just the latest. A female Philadelphia Phillies fan confronted a man with his son after he gave a home run ball to his son when the Phillies faced the Miami Marlins this past weekend.

He later gave the ball to the woman who went viral on social media for her actions, but when both teams found out what happened, they gave the young man several gifts (it was his birthday), including an autograph baseball, and he got to meet the player who hit the home run.

Another fan was caught taking a hat from another fan at the US Open in another incident caught on tape.

With more fans getting out of hand at events, teams are taking a harsher stance against offenders, including banning them for life.
