The Atlanta Falcons made a surprising move in Week 6 when the team made wide receiver Ray-Ray McCloud inactive.
McCloud was operating as the Falcons' No. 3 receiver over the first four games and was third in receiving yards among the team's wideouts, which is why the move was surprising.
On Friday, head coach Raheem Morris revealed that the Falcons wide receiver will again be a healthy scratch in Week 7 and went into some details about what's going on.
"I sent him home," Morris said Friday, per Tory McElhaney of AtlantaFalcons.com. "An excused absence. We are working through some things that are private with the young man, and we will get those things figured out."
Morris went on to say that McCloud's issue has nothing "at all" to do with the team firing former wide receivers coach Ike Hilliard.
"This is between Ray-Ray, the organization and us," Morris added. "I wouldn't say it is a disciplinary thing. More a football thing with something we have to get straightened out."
Not exactly a clear and definitive answer from Morris, but it does at least shed some light on what's going on.
Reading the tea leaves, it looks like there's a chance that McCloud's days with the Falcons could be numbered.
