Texas A&M star cornerback Will “The Blanket” Lee sets sights on the pros after stellar 2024 campaign.

When Texas A&M cornerback Will Lee III announced he was declaring for the NFL Draft, it wasn’t just another player leaving Aggieland, it was the continuation of a legacy. The Aggies have long been a pipeline for defensive talent, from Myles Garrett to Von Miller. Now, Lee looks ready to carve his name into that list.

Lee’s rise wasn’t easy. Out of Kirkwood High School, he held only modest offers and went the JUCO route at Iowa Western, where he earned NJCAA First-Team All-America honors while helping win a national title. From there, he transferred to Kansas State, recording 42 tackles and two interceptions in just one season before transferring again, this time to Texas A&M.

By 2024, Lee had fully embraced the spotlight. He finished with 42 tackles and ranked fifth in the SEC with 10 pass breakups. His nickname, “The Blanket,” fit perfectly as he smothered opposing receivers all season long.

In a press conference, Lee was direct about his decision: “I think everybody knows, but I’m going to be gone after this year. I’m trying to get to that bigger level.”

Texas A&M fans may lose one of their best defenders, but the NFL gains a corner who’s proven he can adapt, compete, and deliver.

College football fans should circle Lee’s name now. He’s not just leaving Aggieland, he’s bringing “The Blanket” to Sundays.
