Five-star wideout Jerome Myles suffers lower leg injury before ever taking the field for the Aggies
The buzz around Texas A&M’s offense took a major hit before the season even kicked off. True freshman wide receiver Jerome Myles, one of the Aggies’ most highly anticipated recruits, is out for the year after sustaining a lower leg injury in fall camp that required surgery. Head coach Mike Elko confirmed the news, calling it a tough blow for both Myles and the team.
Myles arrived in College Station with sky-high expectations. Ranked the No. 1 player in Utah and the No. 3 wide receiver in the 2025 class by 247Sports, the Draper native was a five-star talent who chose Texas A&M over offers from USC, Utah, and Ole Miss. His size, speed, and instincts had fans and coaches alike expecting an immediate impact.
Now, the Aggies will have to adjust without him. Fortunately, Elko built depth through the transfer portal. NC State transfer KC Concepcion, who caught 53 passes for 460 yards last season, headlines the group. Concepcion’s freshman campaign in 2023 featured 71 catches, 839 yards, and 10 touchdowns, earning him ACC Rookie of the Year honors. Mississippi State transfer Mario Craver also brings speed and big-play ability after averaging 21.6 yards per catch last year.
Losing Myles hurts, but the Aggies’ wide receiver room is far from empty. With proven playmakers in Concepcion and Craver, Texas A&M still has the firepower to keep its offense moving. For Myles, the focus shifts to recovery and preparation for a comeback in 2026.
