3:05 p.m. — It's all Penn State in Happy Valley, as the Nittany Lions have built a five-possession lead and are on the verge of a shutout. A five-yard touchdown rush by Nicholas Singleton (and a made PAT by Ryan Barker) is the final nail in the coffin.

3:02 p.m. — The Nittany Lions' defense comes up with another turnover, forcing Joe Pesasnsky (who had recently been brought into the game by FIU) into fumbling the football. Chaz Coleman both forced and recovered the fumble.

2:56 p.m. — Kaytron Allen breaks free from FIU's defense and seemingly solidifies the win for Penn State, going on a monster 67-yard run to the end zone. Ryan Parker's extra point is good, and the Nittany Lions are ahead 27-0.

2:38 p.m. — Drew Allar throws a pass to Luke Reynolds that is broken up and nearly intercepted near the Penn State sideline. The refereeing crews take a look at the play and uphold the call on the field: incomplete pass.

2:30 p.m. — The bad news is that Penn State was unable to score after forcing FIU's offense off the field once again. The good news is that Gabe Nwosu unleashed a 67-yard punt that brought the Panthers back to their own 17-yard line.

2:11 p.m. — The Nittany Lions elect to go for two, and Drew Allar completes a pass to Drew Shelton for a successful conversion. But after Penn State is called for holding, it elects to go for the extra point. Ryan Barker's extra point is good, putting the Nittany Lions up 20-0.

2:09 p.m. — Penn State adds to its lead in a big way. Drew Allar launches the ball 42 yards into the end zone, where Devonte Ross fights through contact and comes up with a big catch.

1:57 p.m. — Ryan Barker is on the field for another field goal attempt, and he is good from 34 yards out. Penn State now leads 13-0.

1:50 p.m. — Noah Grant takes the second-half kick-off, and it's time for the second half. Penn State will begin the third quarter with the ball.

1:30 p.m. — Penn State head coach James Franklin at halftime on the team's offensive struggles and Drew Allar's frustration: "We just got to catch the ball. We got to throw a few more completions... We'll clean it all up."

1:29 p.m. — Penn State gets the ball again with 26 seconds remaining in the second half, but the drive does not result in points. Ryan Baker attempts a field goal from 53 yards out, but it is blocked by Jessiah McGrew.

1:24 p.m. — FIU head coach Willie Simmons is incensed on the sideline after a late defensive substitution by Penn State disrupts the Panthers' offensive play. Facing 3rd-and-3, FIU is only able to gain one yard on a rush by Devonte Lyons.

1:17 p.m. — Drew Allar gets swallowed in the pocket on third down, and the Nittany Lions elect to go for a field goal. Ryan Barker nails the 41-yard attempt to put Penn State ahead 10-0.

1:07 p.m. — The referees took a look at the previous play, and they rule the ball did not cross the end-zone line during Nwosu's punt.

1:04 p.m. — Drew Allar misthrows a pass to Nicholas Singleton, resulting in a fourth down. But special teams comes in clutch once again, pinning FIU to its own two-yard line after Gabe Nwosu's first punt of the season.

12:59 p.m. — The Nittany Lions' special teams unit comes up huge on the first punt attempt of the day. Dominic DeLuca ran unblocked towards Trey Milhoit and got his paws on the ball. The ball is recovered at the FIU 45-yard line.

12:28 p.m. — Penn State is on the board after Drew Allar finds Khalil Dinkins wide open in the end zone for a nine-yard completion. Ryan Barker nails the extra point to make the score 7-0 in favor of the Nittany Lions.
