The NFL world was set ablaze yesterday when the news broke that Micah Parsons was headed to the Green Bay Packers.

After a long and messy contract dispute, it all culminated in a trade that has left Dallas Cowboys fans distraught. Their superstar edge rusher is headed North to a vaunted rival.

Jerry and Stephen Jones held a press conference last night following the trade to answer burning questions and, of course, explain themselves.

Jerry Jones' Explanation for the Micah Parsons Trade

Jones was asked a variety of questions about the former Penn State pass rusher, including if he would ever come to regret the trade that shipped out arguably Dallas' best player.

"Nothing at all in terms of regret," Jones said. "You're asking if I regret, no, I don't regret that at all. I'm very, very excited about the prospects of what we've done for the Cowboys here."

"We got what we wanted." Jones told the media.

What they wanted was two first-round picks and former Pro Bowl defensive tackle Kenny Clark, which, to Cowboys fans, may as well be peanuts.

Jones also compared the deal to Dallas' 1989 Herschel Walker trade, which kick-started the Cowboys' 1990s dynasty.

"Micah Parsons did an outstanding job for us for four years, and a little bit of the way Herschel Walker may have had his greatest contribution to the Cowboys, what he brought to us when he left could be a tremendous thing for our fans and the success of this team."

Dallas fans won't have to wait too long to see their former superstar pass rusher again, as he'll be in town Week 4 when the Green Bay Packers come to town for Sunday Night Football.
