Buccaneers' Chris Godwin takes major step in return from injury image

All is well, except for a few injuries to the offensive line, for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers as they head into a Week 3 matchup for their home opener against the New York Jets.

The Buccaneers are 2-0 heading into the matchup, and they will hope to transfer their momentum after two straight one-possession wins against the Atlanta Falcons and the Houston Texans.

A major question that fans have been curious about is the status of wide receiver Chris Godwin. On Thursday, the former third-round pick from Penn State noted a huge step in his recovery from ankle surgery.

Chris Godwin logs second straight practice for first time since season-ending injury

In the Tampa Bay Buccaneers' preparation for the New York Jets in Week 3, wide receiver Chris Godwin practiced in a limited fashion and is labeled as questionable for Sunday's game.

Although his status for Week 3 remains uncertain, Chris Godwin practiced for a second consecutive day – his first time doing so since suffering a dislocated ankle with ligament damage and a fractured bone in Week 7 of the 2024 season, RotoWire.com reported.

Before getting hurt in the middle of last season, Godwin was on pace to have a career year. In seven games played, he logged 50 receptions on 62 targets, 576 yards, and five touchdowns.

Tampa Bay's wide receiver doesn't look as healthy as they would like heading into the weekend. On Thursday, Emeka Egbuka missed his second practice in a row while dealing with hip and groin injuries.
