Ohio State safety questions if the 12th Man is as real as it seems

College football thrives on passionate fan bases and debate. Some of those debates center on loudest stadiums. Which teams have the loudest home field advantage? Which conference has the loudest, most intimidating gameday atmosphere?

Ohio State safety Caleb Downs recently gave his opinion, and Texas A&M fans may not like what he said. On his Downs 2 Business podcast with his brother Josh, Downs recalled his freshman season with Alabama and what it was like walking into Kyle Field in 2023.

“Playing at Texas A&M my freshman year, that game was the loudest that I had ever been at,” Downs said. “But that Texas A&M game, they were pumping noise into the stadium.”

When Josh countered by crediting the Aggies’ six-figure crowd, Caleb doubled down. “I was literally sitting on the sideline, and I could feel noise coming from under the stadium,” he added.

Kyle Field is famous for packing in more than 100,000 fans. Even Nick Saban once called it the toughest environment in the SEC. Downs’ claim, though, suggests otherwise.

The debate is far from over, but one thing is certain, Texas A&M fans will defend the 12th Man with pride.
