C.J. Carr is trying to make a name for himself as Notre Dame's starting quarterback.
He's doing so with a famous football last name that has ties in a lot of directions.
And while many wonder about his relation to Michigan legend Lloyd Carr, there's a QB direction to take this, too.
Derek and David Carr were both long-time NFL QBs. There must be some connection, right? Well, maybe not.

Is C.J. Carr related to Derek?
No, C.J. Carr is not related to Derek Carr, the long-time NFL quarterback.
That means he also isn't related to David Carr, the former No. 1 overall pick who is Derek's brother.
How is C.J. Carr related to Lloyd?
C.J. Carr is the grandson of Michigan coaching legend Lloyd Carr.
It of course created quite the irony when C.J. chose the Fighting Irish over the Wolverines.
Incredibly, C.J.'s maternal grandfather is Tom Curtis. Curtis was an All-American safety for Michigan and is also in the College Football Hall of Fame.
Not a bad football lineage here.
