When Bill Belichick was hired to take over the North Carolina Tar Heels, expectations were sky-high. There was a wave of excitement in Chapel Hill — but that has quickly disappeared after UNC was demolished at home by Clemson, marking their third blowout loss of the season.

“Three non-competitive losses to Power Four competition this season for Bill Belichick is unfortunately part of the battle when fighting through a rebuild — and UNC's first-year coach sounds tired of seeing the same issues week after week. Saturday's 38-10 drubbing to Clemson was the latest indictment on a roster that isn't up to par talent-wise at a program with a long way to go in the ACC under its new staff,” CBS Sports’ Brad Crawford wrote.

It got so bad during Saturday’s game that Barstool’s Dave Portnoy called for Belichick to quit.

“I would not hold it against Belichick if he just quit at halftime and was never seen again. Somebody has to get him the hell out of college football asap,” Portnoy said.

According to a report from NFL insider Ari Meirov on Monday morning, Belichick is stirring more controversy, this time by blocking UNC from posting any Drake Maye highlights after his first primetime NFL win.

“The University of North Carolina staff has been directed by Bill Belichick not to post or repost anything related to the Patriots — which explains why there were no posts about Drake Maye’s performance Sunday night in the win over Buffalo, per RossMartinNC. Maye, of course, played his college ball at UNC,” Meirov wrote.

Of course, this has nothing to do with Maye and everything to do with Belichick’s ongoing feud with the Patriots. Patriots staffers aren’t even allowed on UNC’s campus.

“It's clear that I'm not welcome around their facility, so [they're] not welcome at ours. Pretty simple," Belichick said earlier in the season.

Belichick’s latest move is just another chapter in what’s becoming a never-ending saga in Chapel Hill. Surprisingly, no one seems to be challenging him — but then again, he’s still one of the greatest coaches football has ever seen.

There’s a long road ahead for this North Carolina squad, but one thing is certain: Belichick isn’t letting go of his grudge with the Patriots anytime soon.
