ESPN analytics predicts when Bill Belichick could get his first ACC win image

The Bill Belichick experiment in Chapel Hill has gone from "He's back" to when will the wins come? Despite a renewed effort for the North Carolina Tar Heels as of late, the team is still winless in ACC play.

Each of the past two games have come down to the final possessions. A fumble in the end zone against Cal resulted in a 21-18 loss to the Golden Bears. The heartbreaking finish was hard to swallow, especially after Belichick and UNC reportedly discussed his buyout terms during the week. A bye week helped to cool the waters, but a trip to Nantucket for the legendary coach and his 24-year-old girlfriend Jordon Hudson became the story.

However, Belichick and UNC took 16th-ranked Virginia to overtime before losing on a two-point conversion attempt that was stopped short of the goal line. So where does this leave the Tar Heels for the rest of the season?

The Friday night matchup at Syracuse will be the last time UNC leaves the state of North Carolina this season. Another ACC matchup that Belichick's squad isn't favored to win. According to ESPN analytics, there is one game remaining on the Tar Heels schedule which they currently hold an advantage.

Next week's game vs. Stanford gives UNC a slight advantage at 56.7 percent. The rest of the ACC slate doesn't look good with Wake Forest, Duke, and NC State all carrying a rivalry vibe.

North Carolina faces Syracuse on Halloween night (7:30 p.m. ET, ESPN).
