Villanova constructed a challenging non-conference schedule this season. Although the team won its opener against Colgate, No. 2 Penn State wreaked havoc in the following week.
The Nittany Lions won 52-6 in what was an unsurprising blowout. Villanova followed that up with another loss, this time to Monmouth in the CAA opener. Monmouth won 51-33 despite Villanova's David Avit rushing for 135 yards and three touchdowns.
William & Mary also played its first CAA game already. The team faced Maine and won 28-27. Rashad Raymond rushed for a one-yard touchdown in the fourth quarter to put the team up, and Jalen Jones interception a pass on the next possession.
William & Mary is 2-2 with losses to Furman and Virginia. This will be both teams' second CAA game of the season.
