Virginia Tech and Vanderbilt face off after both sides endured two different season-openers a week ago.

Virginia Tech fell to South Carolina in a tough, 24-11 bout, while Vanderbilt beat Charleston Southern in a 45-3 blowout.

This will effectively be a rematch of last year's upset win of the Commodores over the Hokies. Vanderbilt took down Virginia Tech, 34-27, in overtime in 2024.

Kyron Drones once again leads Virginia Tech this season. He threw for 221 yards but had two interceptions in the Hokies' loss to the Gamecocks.

Diego Pavia is under center for Vanderbilt again, too. He threw for 275 yards and three touchdowns in the Commodores' Week 1 win.
