The Bill Belichick era in Chapel Hill begins with UNC taking on TCU at home.
The Tar Heels went 6-7 in a bad 2024 season where they finished 12th in the ACC. Now, they will have a new quarterback under center in Gio Lopez, who transferred from South Alabama.
TCU didn't have that great of a season this past year, either, as the Horned Frogs went 9-4 and finished sixth in the Big 12. Quarterback Josh Hoover returned to TCU after he finished with 3,949 passing yards, 27 touchdowns and 11 interceptions in 2024.
They also added a few offensive transfers like receiver Jordan Dwyer from Idaho, receiver Joseph Manjack from Houston and Kevorian Barnes from UTSA.
