It’s finally time for the matchup between No. 1 Texas and No. 3 Ohio State. Arch Manning and the top-ranked Texas team are in Columbus to take on the defending champs. Below, we provide a Texas-Ohio State betting preview, looking at odds from different sportsbook apps.

The spread has been consistent this week at Ohio State -1.5. Bettors can use FanDuel, DraftKings and Caesars to take advantage of multiple college football betting bonuses.

With an NCAAF game of this magnitude, it comes as no surprise that there is relative agreement across the books in terms of odds. Even with Texas as the higher ranked team, Ohio State has the end at home. They haven’t lost a home game to a non-Michigan team since 2021.

If you are going to take Texas on the moneyline, it makes sense to do so at DraftKings, as you are getting a slightly better price, which all adds up in the end. Is that where we would go in this one? Let's talk about it.

Texas vs. Ohio State Betting Preview

All eyes are going to be on the QBs in this game, with Manning as the headliner. This will not be his first college football start in his career, but this is the first time he is the starting QB heading into the season. For those wondering if the third generation Manning QB meets the hype, he absolutely does. He can make every throw on the field, and, in classic Manning form, is a cerebral QB as well.

The unknown is on the Ohio State side, with Julian Sayin, a redshirt freshman, as their starting QB. Of course, Sayin is surrounded by elite talent across all positions on the offensive side, with two future first-round picks at WR in Jeremiah Smith and Carnell Tate, and young-but-talented offensive line. That said, the offense might struggle going up against this vaunted Texas defense.

They are led by two game-wreckers along the defensive line in Colin Simmons and Anthony Hill Jr, who combined for 17 sacks last season. While the Ohio State offensive line has talent, they are young and could easily struggle against the Texas DL. It would not be a complete surprise to see first-time starter Julian Sayin struggle in this one, at least early, and could turn it over a couple of times.

The biggest name on the Texas offense is, of course, Manning, but they are littered with talent up-and-down the roster. They also have a rebuilt offensive line that has not played together a ton, but has talent, with a lot of skill at the skill positions. Texas is returning WRs Ryan Wingo and DeAndre Moore Jr, while adding in Emmett Mosley V from Stanford.

Spread Prediction

This is a spot to back Texas. The expectation is that their offense can move the ball with Manning at the helm, while we are expecting some growing pains with Sayin, especially against this Texas front seven. They can wreak havoc without needing to blitz, which will help them in coverage against Ohio States star WRs.

Texas also has more continuity in general from last season, which is important in a situation such as this, going into a hostile environment to take on a talented Ohio State team.

Official Prediction: Texas Moneyline +102 on DraftKings
