Texas A&M vs. Arkansas weather delay: Updates and more image

No. 4 Texas A&M traveled east to take on Arkansas from Donald W. Reynolds Razorback Stadium. The game was delayed due to severe weather in Northwest Arkansas, university officials announced. Kickoff was originally scheduled for 2:30 p.m. CT but has been pushed back to 4:30 p.m. CT because of lightning and heavy thunderstorms in the area.

Texas A&M vs. Arkansas hit with weather delay.

The decision came after forecasts from the National Weather Service warned of strong storms throughout the afternoon, with heavy rain, gusty winds up to 25 mph, and potential lightning strikes. Stadium gates will now open at 3 p.m., and the traditional Hog Walk event was canceled in response to the delay.

The Aggies (6-0) enter the game with an undefeated record under head coach Mike Elko, while the Razorbacks (2-4) are seeking their first win since early September in the second stint of Bobby Petrino’s Arkansas tenure, in an interim position. The game continues the long-standing Southwest Classic rivalry, being played in Fayetteville for the first time since 2014, the games previously took place at AT&T Stadium in Arlington.
