Oh, and music icon Taylor Swift and Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce announced their engagement.

The announcement took the world by storm and proceeded to dominate conversation online. The couple's engagement comes on the heels of Swift joining Kelce's podcast "New Heights," which he hosts with his brother Jason. Swift announced her new album on the episode and went mega-viral once again. Now, the power couple's buzzed-about month of August could continue.

Week 1 of the college football season features Nebraska taking on Cincinnati at Arrowhead Stadium in Kansas City, home of the Chiefs. Both Kelce brothers attended Cincinnati, and with his alma mater playing in his home stadium, there’s an expectation that Travis Kelce could be in attendance. Given Taylor Swift’s familiarity with the Arrowhead security team from attending Chiefs games, the newly engaged couple could watch the game together in person.

So far, Swift has attended 23 Chiefs games. This includes mainly games held at Arrowhead, with the main exception being road playoff games, including two Super Bowls. On Thursday, she attended her first college football game, accompanying Kelce as he watched his alma mater take on Nebraska.

Is Travis Kelce at the Cincinnati vs. Nebraska game today?

Kelce returned to his beloved stomping grounds to watch the Bearcats take on the Cornhuskers on Thursday evening.

He was not the only notable Chiefs player to feature at Arrowhead Stadium, either. So was his favorite arbalest, Patrick Mahomes, who shares a unique relationship with Nebraska QB Dylan Raiola.

Why is Cincinnati-Nebraska being held at Arrowhead Stadium?

Initially, this game was supposed to be held in Cincinnati as part of a home-and-home agreement between the two teams. It was then moved to a neutral site at Lucas Oil Stadium. Later, Arrowhead Stadium made Cincinnati a lucrative offer to host the contest there, in part because of the connection to their star tight end. Hosting the game at Arrowhead also makes it easier for Nebraska fans to travel. Cincinnati will retain 75% of ticket sales. If the game runs smoothly, the hope is that Arrowhead will host more college football games in the future, thanks to its central location for Big 12 and Big Ten teams.
