College football Week 4 weather delays: Latest updates on when Notre Dame-Purdue and other games will resume image

It seems the consistent theme of the 2025 college football season so far is weather delays. Consistently through the first four weeks, we've seen several of them affect several games.

First, the Clemson Tigers a had a nearly two-hour delay against Syracuse. Clemson went into the locker room down 24-14 at halftime, and lost 31-14. 

Later on Saturday. Notre Dame's home game against Purdue was also delayed due to lightning right at halftime. Since the delay was so long (nearly two hours), the two sides skipped halftime entirely. Play eventually resumed in South Bend, however.

Purdue vs. Notre Dame weather delay updates

7:00 p.m. — The game has finally resumed, and it looked like there were several lightning strikes in the area during the delay: 

6:40 p.m. — The game is expected to resume at 7:00 p.m. EST. It's been quite a lengthy delay, spanning nearly two hours. 

6:00 p.m. — Well this is a new one. Apparently the delay will cause this game to essentially skip halftime. There was only 1:28 left in the first half when the game went into a delay:  

5:28 p.m. — Notre Dame experienced a delay just before halftime. The Fighting Irish led 28-13 late in the second quarter:  

Syracuse vs. Clemson weather delay updates 

Latest updates

3:30 p.m. — The delay lasted about an hour and 45 minutes, as play resumed around 3:45: 

We'll see if Clemson has a stronger finish in the second half after the delay. 

2:31 p.m. — Clemson trailed Troy 16-3 at halftime, and had won 27-16 after the lengthy weather delay. Some Clemson fans are hoping the same magic can work against Syracuse: 

2:28 p.m. — It looks like this game will take a bit to resume, looking at some of the weather in the area: 

2:20 p.m. — The initial delay was expected to be around 30 minutes:
