The Syracuse Orange had a difficult start to the 2025 season, facing No. 24 Tennessee in the opening matchup.
Any unranked vs. ranked matchup is difficult, but the Volunteers took care of business easily, winning 45-26. The Orange are 0-1 to start and will play another nonconference game against UConn this week.
The Huskies won the first matchup of the season against Central Connecticut. It was a dominant showing, winning 59-13 and having two different quarterbacks throw a touchdown.
Joe Fagnano completed 18-of-25 passes for 260 yards and three touchdowns while also rushing for another score. He connected with Skyler Bell for two touchdowns and 135 yards on four receptions.
Cam Edwards was also excellent, rushing for 115 yards and a touchdown on just six carries.
