Does North Carolina play today? Schedule, time, channel for next UNC Tar Heels football game image

The Bill Belichick era in Chapel Hill is off to a rocky start.

The Tar Heels (2-2) limp into their bye week following a 25-point drubbing at the hands of Central Florida. They've lost both of their contests against Power Four opponents this season.

The road doesn't necessarily get easier, but there is opportunity for growth on the other side of UNC's bye week. A high-profile matchup with Clemson, another struggling program, looms on Oct. 4. It figures to be a must-win game for both outfits.

Much of the intrigue for North Carolina continues to come at the quarterback position. Starter Gio Lopez suffered a leg injury against UCF, and it's unclear when he'll return to the field. Next in line is sixth-year senior Max Johnson, who has already appeared in two games in relief of Lopez this season.

Here's everything you need to know about when North Carolina plays next, and how you can watch.
