Nebraska quarterback Dylan Raiola will miss the rest of the season with a broken fibula, according to ESPN's Pete Thamel. The signal-caller exited during Saturday's 21-17 loss to No. 23 USC, dropping the Huskers to 6-3.
Raiola took to social media to thank his fans and plans to return better than he was previously.
“Thank y’all for your thoughts and prayers! God’s vision and plan is so much greater than I can imagine!!” He said in a post on Instagram. “Just a small bump in the road to a beautiful journey back to playing the game I love!!”
Nebraska has lost 29 straight games to ranked opponents. The last ranked victory for the program came on Sept. 17, 2016 against then-No. 22 Oregon, 35-32.
Raiola will be replaced by backup TJ Lateef. The former three-star freshman from Compton, California has thrown for 261 yards and a touchdown in three games this season.
Nebraska heads to Pasadena to face UCLA on Saturday night (9 p.m. ET, FOX).
