The Texas Tech Red Raiders have found their stride on the recruiting trail in the NIL era.

Texas Tech has a top-25 2026 recruiting, highlighted by five-star offensive lineman Felix Ojo.

Early in the 2027 cycle, the Red Raiders have a top-10 class.

Entering the week that group was solely made up of five-star edge-rusher LaDamion Guyton and five-star offensive tackle Cooper Hackett.

On Thursday, Texas Tech added a third major commitment to the group, as DeSoto (Texas) four-star defensive lineman K'Adrian Redmond announced his commitment.

The 6-foot-3, 305-pound athlete is rated the nation's No. 102 overall prospect and No. 7 defensive lineman and committed to Texas Tech over offers from Baylor, Nebraska, Notre Dame, TCU, Texas, Texas A&M, USC and many others.

But the significance of Redmond's commitment extends beyond his ranking.

Texas Tech beat out both Texas and Texas A&M for the in-state defensive lineman, and plucked him for in-state power program DeSoto, which could help build a valuable pipeline.

Redmond's decision also continues the recent trend of Texas Tech emerging as a major recruiting power.

In fact, his decision prompted Ojo to declare that the Red Raiders have become a national recruiting power.

"Texas Tech, the new recruiting powerhouse," he wrote.

This week, Texas Tech travels to Utah for a top-20 clash.

Both on and off the field, it has been a stellar past few months for the Red Raiders.
