The Arkansas Razorbacks football program suffered a crucial blow last Saturday as Jordan Anthony, the fastest WR in their receiving corps, decided to take his talents to the track field.

Anthony is the current record holder for 60 and 100 meters outdoor running and ranks second all-time in Razorback history for 200 meters.

The decision came shortly after Jordan won the NCAA 2025 100m Championship. The victory cemented the Arkansas team as No. 3 overall in the NCAA Championship.

In a post on Twitter, Anthony vowed to keep the same “F you” mentality as he now pledges his talents to track full-time.

Anthony did, however, end on a positive note, sending out a heartfelt message to the Razorbacks fandom and his supporters: "I want to extend my deepest gratitude to the communities that helped shape me. Thank you for accepting me, for welcoming me with open arms and for nurturing me through the many seasons of life."

While the Razorbacks have seen a good amount of recent success in the development of young WRs, having sent Isaac TesSlaa to the NFL, the move leaves the Hogs in a precarious spot, having lost out on the sheer production of Andrew Armstrong.

Bobby Petrino will face a significant challenge. He will have lost not only two of his best starters to the draft, and his vertical option.

Currently, the most veteran options carrying over from last year are Jordan Anthony (eight catches, 11 yards, one TD in 2024) and C.J Brown (five receptions, 62 yards in 2024.

What will make or break this offense is the ability to acclimate new talent. Recruiting efforts have been at an all-time high and brought in additions such as O’Mega Blake (32 receptions, 795 at Charlotte), Kam Shanks (62 receptions, 656 yards at UAB), and Raylen Sharpe (51 receptions, 523 yards at Fresno State).

In short, quoting Sam Pittman in his do-or-die year:

“This offense will have more new faces than any other this year."
