AT&T hosted the 2025 Big 12 Championship

Country star Jon Pardi took the field for a halftime performance Friday at AT&T Stadium, where Texas Tech and BYU will meet Saturday in the Big 12 Championship Game with College Football Playoff implications on the line.

Texas Tech, led by coach Joey McGuire, rolled through the regular season at 11-1 behind one of the nation’s most explosive offenses and stingiest defenses, and a win would all but lock up a CFP berth. BYU, also 11-1 under Kalani Sitake, gets a second shot at the Red Raiders after a November loss in Lubbock and likely needs a victory to force its way into the 12‑team playoff field.

Pardi said earlier this season through the Big 12, “I’m so fired up to be part of the Big 12 Football Championship Game this year — and to be the first country artist to do it makes it even more fun. It’s going to be a good time — we’re going to give fans an unforgettable show.”

He recently released his fifth album, Honkytonk Hollywood, and has earned six No. 1 singles, including his current Top 10 hit “Friday Night Heartbreaker.” Over the past decade, he has helped modernize honky-tonk with roaring guitars and a fun-loving edge. His music has also become embedded in football culture, from performing at the College Football Playoff to debuting his “Night Shift” music video on ESPN as a lead-in to kickoff. He also announced an NFL Draft pick for his hometown San Francisco 49ers.
