Seventh-ranked Grand Valley State eyes a third straight win when it hosts Saginaw Valley State on Saturday afternoon.
They'll write the latest chapter in the storied "Battle of the Valleys," a rivalry series that dates back to 1975. Grand Valley holds the all-time head-to-head edge, 42-11, including the playoffs.
The Lakers' offense appears to be hitting its stride, averaging 35.5 points per game in the last two weeks. Quarterback Andrew Schuster threw a pair of touchdowns in last Saturday's win over Northern Michigan.
Saginaw Valley is riding plenty of momentum, too. The Cardinals just hung 55 points on Roosevelt, with Michael Jamerson II and Nick Patterson each running for two touchdowns. Just a week earlier, Saginaw Valley scored 47 points against Northern Michigan.
