ESPN’s College GameDay set up shop at Penn State on Saturday morning and wanted to blend in with the "White Out" tradition.
Ahead of the No. 3 Nittany Lions’ clash with No. 6 Oregon, the crew of Rece Davis, Kirk Herbstreit, Nick Saban, and Desmond Howard arrived on set in crisp, all-white suits. A nod to the 106,000 fans expected to be at Beaver Stadium on Saturday night. However, there was someone who didn't get the memo. Pat McAfee is never one to blend quietly into a crowd but chose to got with cream.
The outspoken hosts outfit featured a cream jacket over white pants and a white shirt, leaving him both partially aligned and distinctly mismatched. He was put in the center of the broadcast desk with a look couldn’t be overlooked, particularly with the rest of the panel presenting a unified front. Even Pete Thamel got into the act white his own white suit.

This marks the first time the GameDay crew itself embraced Penn State’s White Out theme, a moment that carried extra weight with this being the program’s highest-ranked "White Out" matchup.
Fans seemed appreciative of the crew’s effort, though McAfee’s wardrobe choice drew the most attention. True to form, McAfee later joked that Howard, who hesitated when asked if Oregon might be the Big Ten’s best, should have worn green to match his answer.
ESPN didn’t let the White Out show overshadow their analysis. The show highlighted a quarterback comparison which show Oregon’s statistical edge with Dante Moore. It's a reminder what Penn State is up against. This is expected to be the most difficult coaching environment yet for Oregon’s Dan Lanning.
Penn State, which began the "White Out" tradition in 2004, enters tonight with a 13–8 record in such games. GameDay welcomes Penn State great LaVar Arrington as the guest picker, who is a fitting choice for to join the crew.
