College football polls: Updated AP Top 25, Coaches Poll rankings after Week 1 image

Preseason polls mean very little, but post-Week 1 polls might not tell the full truth about teams, either.

College football's Week 1 slate only featured a few games significant enough to move the needle in this week's polls, though much more competitive matchups are on tap in Week 2.

Two of the biggest storylines after Week 1 surround Florida State and Colorado. The Seminoles, ranked No. 8 in last week's AP Poll, romped to a 21-point win over No. 5 LSU in Orlando. Florida State is on the rise, but how far? The same question can be asked about LSU's fall after a disappointing performance, along with former No. 9 Clemson after its debacle against Duke.

Colorado, meanwhile, went from nowhere near top 25 consideration into the rankings. The Buffaloes knocked off No. 17 TCU on the road in Deion Sanders' coaching debut, and they look like favorites against Nebraska in Week 2. For a team that won just one game last season, a spot in the polls is a gigantic step in the right direction.
