QB Bear Bachmeier was the star of the show, racking up 179 passing yards with two touchdown throws while also torching the Buffaloes on the ground for 98 yards. Chase Roberts did the heavy lifting in the air attack, hauling in five catches for 49 yards and both of Bachmeier's scoring strikes.
West Virginia, meanwhile, has endured a rollercoaster campaign—and not the fun kind. Sure, their highlight so far is a dramatic overtime victory over Pitt in the "Backyard Brawl," but that’s about as bright as it gets. Their only other win came against FCS opponent Robert Morris, and the rest has been grim.
They were stunned by MAC side Ohio in embarrassing fashion, then hammered in back-to-back Big 12 losses to Kansas and Utah, with an ugly combined scoreline of 89-24.
