One of the premier games in Week 8 is between two SEC squads: No. 6 Alabama and No. 11 Tennessee.
The Crimson Tide bounced back from a Week 1 loss to Florida State, rattling off five straight victories. That run included wins against No. 5 Georgia, No. 16 Vanderbilt and No. 14 Missouri. This marks the fourth straight ranked opponent.
While the previous stretch has been impressive, it could mean nothing if Alabama can't make it through the next few weeks. It hosts Tennessee this week, followed by South Carolina, No. 10 LSU and No. 14 Oklahoma.
Tennessee is also 5-1, with its one loss against Georgia in overtime. It's a respectable loss, but the Volunteers can't endure many more losses if they expect to reach the College Football Playoff. They travel to Alabama for one of this week's primetime games.
