The Michigan Wolverines are out for more dominance against the Ohio State Buckeyes this Saturday, and they couldn't care less whether the Buckeyes are offended afterward.
Look no further than Wolverines running back Jordan Marshall, who committed to Michigan over the Buckeyes in a high-profile recruiting race at the time.
Speaking to reporters ahead of the Week 14 blockbuster, Marshall let loose about how he views the Buckeyes as a football program.
"I really liked Tony Alford," Marshall said of his position coach. "He would probably be one of the reasons why I went there. I didn't like a few other people, and that's truly why I didn't pick there. And I think Coach Alford would tell you the same. He came here, and he sees the different...the best head coach in the Big Ten and college football, and how he carries himself and how he puts himself over the team, and it's all about culture, and that's what I wanted to be around."
Marshall then went for the jugular, calling out the Buckeyes' glaring reputation for being arrogant.
"I didn't want to be around people that were about themselves, and I truly believe that's why Coach Alford came here too, is he wanted to be around better people."
Alford was open about the differences between the Wolverines and the Buckeyes back in August, echoing Marshall's eventual statements.
“Our players, I think, when you sit with our players, some of the kids I’ve had that have come in recently in recruiting, they speak volumes about our players," Alford told USA Today."Those are the best recruiters you have. It’s not the coaches, it’s the players. … We have an amazing locker room to sell. I think this community, they’ve embraced this team and this culture has been unlike anywhere else I’ve ever been. It’s just a different place. It’s just a different place.”
Another layer college football fans didn't realize they needed entering this Saturday: Alford vs. His former school.
Enough said.
