ESPN's College GameDay will head to Miami for the first time in five years. While the contest between Miami and Florida will be on everyone's mind, the show announced the celebrity guest picker for the week.
Florida Panthers star Matthew Tkachuk will be on the panel, College GameDay announced Thursday. The left winger is fresh off back-to-back Stanley Cup Finals wins. The third straight finals appearance for the Sunshine State's hottest professional team.
Tkachuk announced himself as a guest star on the college football pregame show.
“This is our territory but this weekend it is all about the ‘U,’” Tkachuk said in the video. “I am so pumped for this in-state rivalry game. The energy is going to be electric, but I can't wait to see you all Saturday."
The two-time Stanley Cup champion will hang with host Rece Davis, analysts Kirk Herbstreit, Desmond Howard, Pat McAfee and Nick Saban at the Lakeside Patio on Miami’s campus.
The 4th-ranked Hurricanes are 3-0 and have wins over two ranked opponents in Notre Dame and South Florida. On the other hand, the Gators are 1-2 and are trying to find consistency.
