The comedian and die-hard Browns fan thinks Shedeur Sanders could be the answer Cleveland has been waiting for.
When Steve Harvey speaks about football, people listen. The “Family Feud” host is more than just a TV icon, he’s a lifelong Cleveland Browns fan who isn’t shy about voicing frustration with his team. And now, Harvey has his sights set on rookie quarterback Shedeur Sanders.
On The Pivot Podcast, Harvey didn’t hold back. First, he made it clear that 40-year-old Joe Flacco won’t last all season. “You just can’t be 40 and run that fast away from all these people. So, Joe Flacco is going to get hurt,” Harvey said.
Second, he doubts rookie Gabriel will be ready when forced into action. “Now we gonna watch this Gabriel boy and panic his ass off because he is gonna get thrown in there with the wolves,” Harvey warned.
Finally, Harvey put his faith in Sanders. “I am praying to God that Shedeur gets an opportunity to show what he really can do. And I think that would probably be the best thing,” Harvey said, while also predicting the Browns might trade him.
Through two weeks, Sanders has yet to play. But with Cleveland’s offense stumbling and pressure building, Harvey’s call resonates with frustrated fans. Sanders slipped to the fifth round in April’s draft, but he brings confidence and skill that made him one of college football’s most talked-about quarterbacks.
For Harvey, the answer is simple: give Shedeur a chance.
