Colorado let a 14–0 lead slip away and fell 24–21 at home to No. 25 BYU. Quarterback Kaidon Salter took the defeat personally, pointing to mistakes he says he can’t afford to repeat.
“We just got to be more disciplined,” Salter admitted. “Got to take what they give me and take the easy throws. Just keep working on the scramble drill when plays break down and be able to complete those passes.”

His late interception ended Colorado’s final chance at a comeback on Saturday night. “Most definitely. I feel like…I did too much trying to make plays,” Salter said. “Just got to throw the ball away and take what they give us and let the field goal team and punt team do what they do.”
Despite the disappointment, Salter emphasized his responsibility as a veteran leader. “I’m one of the older guys on the team, so I’ve been doing this for a minute now,” he said. “When you’re down at times you just got to be there to pick everybody up. Let them know that we have another game next week and just keep on pushing.”
Coach Prime’s message echoed the same theme. “He told us that we came out hot and we lost the momentum,” Salter said. “He wanted us to fight, play the next play, forget whether it’s good or bad, and just keep on going.”
