Shilo Sanders is making headway in his father’s infamous favorite child rankings.
Colorado Buffaloes football coach Deion Sanders believes Shilo, not Shedeur, not Deion Jr., not Deiondra, not Shelome, will be his kid that “makes it.” This comes not long after Coach Prime predicted a career in acting or streaming for his middle son.
“Shilo is an entertainer. You talk about if I close my eyes and had to pick a kid that’s gonna make it out of my five, Shilo’s gonna make it. He also had a workout with the 49ers this past week. I said, ‘Son, just a random question, when’s the last time you ran?’ You know I know you like a book, son,” Coach Prime said to Mark Johnson, the voice of the Buffs.
Coach Prime claimed Shilo “has that gift” when it comes to entertaining.
“I was gonna go down that (acting) avenue once upon a time. I think that’s the avenue that … or streaming … that Shilo’s gonna go down, because he has that gift, man,” Coach Prime said on the Colorado Football Coaches Show last week.
Clearly, Deion has confidence that Shilo will make it in his next professional venture, which doesn’t appear to be football after the ex-CU safety worked out with the San Francisco 49ers and hasn’t received a contract offer as far as what’s been reported.
But what about Shedeur? While Coach Prime has predicted Shedeur will start for the Cleveland Browns this season, he clearly doesn’t believe it’s a shoo-in that he’ll be as successful as Shilo. The latter has already begun posting YouTube videos to his channel, and clips from the show are gaining viral steam. Shilo is getting a good reception.
Shedeur hasn’t gotten that from NFL fans based on his training camp and preseason performances. Or his rap song, “Perfect Timing,” which he released last year, the day after the Black and Gold spring game.
Shedeur also hasn’t gotten confidence from his father that he’ll be the kid who makes it, even though he’s the one signed to a team.
Tough break for the “Grown QB.” While he was the golden child during his Buffs career, it may be Shilo who shines post-Boulder.
