The Cleveland Browns and Shedeur Sanders mash-up has been less than ideal so far in their brief time together. It turns out that Sanders could be on a contender right now—the Baltimore Ravens—but he turned it down to be the emergency QB for the Browns. This report has gotten him flamed.
“I think this is insane. ... At this point you're in the fifth round. I understand you had higher hopes, but you've dropped to the fifth round and you're thinking about being a starting quarterback the next year. I think this is incredibly shortsighted. ... You want to go to a good organization where you can develop and reach your potential,” Smith said on Sunday NFL Countdown.
While that is the current heat surrounding Sanders’ name, there is always some sort of buzz around him. For example, there is some belief that Sanders could make his first career NFL appearance in London.
“Shedeur might be in there by the time we land in London,” ESPN Cleveland’s Aaron Goldhammer said.
That timeline might be stretching it a bit, but with the way the Browns’ QB room looks, they certainly seem like they would give him a legitimate shot when the time comes. On The Pivot podcast, celebrity Steve Harvey expressed his desire for Sanders to get an opportunity, but he believes the Browns will get rid of him first.
“I am praying to God that Shedeur gets an opportunity ... But, knowing the Cleveland Browns, they dumb a** gonna trade him,” Harvey said.

This move wouldn’t be all that shocking considering Sanders’ current standing with the organization. Even though he hasn’t played much, there is strong belief he could be valuable to a team in the league.
Harvey is all over the Sanders hype—and rightfully so. The only thing that remains to be seen is how the Browns will handle his situation. Sanders is a great prospect with some upside, but that may never get unleashed.
