No. 21 Alabama will be without defensive lineman Jeremiah Beaman for the rest of the season. The former ESPN 300 prospect suffered a lower-body injury in practice Wednesday, according to coach Kalen DeBoer. He announced Beaman's status on his weekly radio show.
Beaman started last week's season opener at Florida State in place of Tim Keenan, who remains sidelined with a lower-body injury. DeBoer gave an update on the position going into this week's game with UL-Monroe.
"Tim Keenan will not be available this week, but he's doing really well and making the progress that we would expect," he said. "This is not a long-term injury for him."
Another blow for the Tide in a defense that couldn't afford to take another setback. Now the team will rely on Edric Hill, Isaia Faga and London Simmons to be in a steady rotation going forward.
Alabama returns home to host UL-Monroe on Saturday night.
