Alabama, Kalen DeBoer's chances of landing elite 5-star phenom revealed image

The Alabama Crimson Tide and head coach Kalen DeBoer are hoping to get the program back on track in 2025. After a disappointing 2024 campaign that saw Alabama end the year with a 9-4 overall record and a 5-3 record in the SEC, a lot of pressure is facing the team to get back to winning football games.

Losing a legendary head coach like Nick Saban is not easy to overcome. A lot of talent opted to leave the program when Saban departed as well.

DeBoer needs to be given some patience to rebuild the team with his players before any kind of judgement is made about his job. However, he has to figure out a way to recruit at a high level and make quality additions via the NCAA transfer portal.

In the 2026 recruiting class, the Crimson Tide have been aggressively pursuing elite five-star wide receiver Cederian Morgan. He has legitimate superstar potential and almost every big program in the country would like to land his commitment. At this point in time, DeBoer has put Alabama in a great position to land him.

According to On3 Sports, the Crimson Tide have an 89.4 percent chance of landing Morgan's commitment. The next closest program are the rival Auburn Tigers, who are given a four percent chance of getting Morgan's commitment.

There is still work to be done to finalize a commitment, but Alabama is the clear-cut favorite at this point in time.

Hailing from Alexander City, Alabama, Morgan is an in-state prospect who would likely have a major interest in remaining close to home. Playing for a program like Alabama would be a major plus as well.

Other teams who are still in pursuit of Morgan are the Florida Gators, Clemson Tigers, and Georgia Bulldogs. Anything could still happen and the Crimson Tide are not guaranteed to land him, but fans have good reason to be optimistic about their chances.
